Avani Queenstown is scheduled to open in September 2026 on Queenstown’s lakefront. The property will mark Avani’s first hotel in Queenstown and its second property in New Zealand, following Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences.

Formerly operated as Oaks Shores Resort, the property has been transformed from serviced apartments into a full-service hotel. Its interiors will include locally inspired finishes, and its social spaces will include areas for après-ski gatherings by a fireplace, private dining and events ranging from smaller celebrations to larger gatherings.

The hotel will include AvaniSpa, with treatment and wellness facilities, and AvaniFit, with fitness facilities.

Six to Midnight will serve as the hotel’s all-day dining venue, featuring locally sourced, seasonal produce in globally inspired menus. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, high tea, après-ski offerings and evening à la carte dining for hotel guests and local residents.

Minor Hotels also recently opened Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Queenstown attracts visitors year-round beyond seasonal travel.
