In Brief: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed voco Muar, a 107-room hotel under construction in Muar, Malaysia, with an opening planned later this year.

IHG Hotels & Resorts signed voco Muar on Aug. 6, 2026, in an agreement with KCC Hotel (Muar) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KCC Holdings Group. The signing introduces the voco brand to Muar.
The hotel is within KCC City Business Park, which is owned and developed by KCC Holdings Group. Interior design work is underway at the property, which is in advanced stages of construction.
voco Muar will have 107 rooms, food and beverage outlets, function and meeting spaces, an infinity pool, a gym and a grand ballroom. The property is about a 40-minute drive from Malacca.
The signing marks IHG’s first hotel in Muar and the first international-branded hotel in the town. Muar is a manufacturing hub with domestic and regional business travel demand, as well as cultural heritage sites, historical landmarks, riverside areas and local cuisine.
The hotel will be IHG’s second voco hotel in Malaysia, following the brand’s country debut in Kuching in June.
voco hotels has 137 open hotels globally. Recent regional additions include voco Bangkok Surawong, voco Bandung Setiabudi and voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang.
IHG has 13 open hotels and eight in the pipeline in Malaysia across its brands, including upcoming market debuts for Regent and Vignette Collection.
