‘Love Is Blind’ is going Canadian – here’s how to apply and what to know

Reality TV lovers, we’ve been waiting for this. If you were like me, you got hooked on Love Is Blind when it came out during peak pandemic. It has everything I love in a reality dating show: drama, excitement, plenty of episodes and a handful of successful love stories.

The show started out in just the U.S., but has branched out to other countries like the U.K. and Mexico. As usual, Canada was left out of the mix – until now.

What is ‘Love Is Blind’?

The show’s premise is basically that a group of singles from a major city go on dates from behind a wall, meaning they can’t see who they’re falling for and are forced to build a connection based on everything but looks.

From there, couples get engaged and must live together and navigate life before the big wedding day, where they will decide if they can say “I do,” or not.

Insight Productions recently announced the Canadian edition of the show is coming to Netflix and better yet, they’re casting right now.

How to apply to ‘Love Is Blind’ Canada

Article content

Applying seems really simple, so if you’re interested, you won’t need to set aside too much time.

Hopefuls can head to the registration page, but before doing so, they must ensure they meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age by the time they submit their application
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada as of January 1, 2027

From there, you’ll be asked to register before you fill out the application.

The application goes through pretty much everything you’d expect a reality TV show application to ask:

  • Hair colour
  • Eye colour
  • Highest level of education completed
  • Occupation
  • Social media handles
  • What does a day look like at your job? What skills and traits are required to do what you do? What makes you good at it?

Of course, there are many more questions, but you get the idea. You’ll also be asked to submit a short video.

While it isn’t clear if the Canadian version of the show will be broken into cities like the U.S. version or if it will cover the entire country, I just know we’re going to see some mountain-lovers from the west coast, some sweethearts from the east coast, and at least one finance bro from Toronto.
