If you’re looking to get out of the city to explore the beautiful river and surrounding trails, this park is your best chance. With an easy commute from Edmonton lasting less than an hour’s drive, you’ll quickly find yourself transported among grand trees and shrubbery.
Your next one-day getaway is right here, so pack an umbrella, grab some friends, and get moving!
What to explore at Devon Voyageur Park
This park is excellent for summer activities, so it’s already the best season to get out there.
Folks here can enjoy large, wide-open areas with plenty of picnic tables and fire pits to enjoy a friendly picnic. Not to mention, there’s also a whole gazebo you can enjoy in the park. In addition to that, there are also general areas that have expansive play areas for kids, as well as public restrooms.
The park happens to include a boat launch for those looking to get their power boats out on the North Saskatchewan River. Not only that, but the river is great for canoeing and kayaking, with many spots available along the bank for you to float your boat.
Voyageur Park also happens to be the westernmost point for the beginning of the River Valley Alliance parks and trail system that starts in Devon. The mission of this alliance is to have a 100-kilometre trail winding through the heart of our beautiful region.
If you’re interested in the trail system already around the park and river valley, we’ve got you covered. You can actually check out a map of the trails on the Town of Devon’s website, outlining the path difficulties alongside whether they’re paved or not.
No matter if you’re hiking, biking, or just relaxing in the sun, this park is perfect for a summer day trip. With some family and friends alongside you, it might just shape up to be the most fun day yet.
