What is Aussie at Heart about?
Samara, (Rhiannon Fish) a former lawyer now event planner, reunites with Nate (Lissing), her ex‑coworker and rival, to plan a couple’s anniversary in Queensland and begin to confront their past and fall for each other.
The Jack Thornton Legacy: Why he’s still missed
Due to the character’s tragic death and overall storyline leading up to his sudden departure, fans still miss the character deeply. Paired with the fact that the Jack-Elizabeth romance was the core of the series and the two actors’ chemistry together, it’s understandable why Hearties want to see him return.
Did Daniel Lissing leave Hallmark on good terms?
Yes. Lissing chose to leave When Calls the Heart and the network for personal reasons and not due to a feud or disagreement with the network or producers.
His current relationship with the network
Lissing has a great relationship with Hallmark. We’re seeing more and more of him on the network as he has been cast in several movies this year.

Will he ever return for a ‘When Calls the Heart’ special?
While Lissing’s character, Mountie Jack Thornton, died on the series, never say “never.” Lissing returned for a When Hope Calls Christmas episode as Mountie Jack for single scene. Alas, the scene was a dream Abigail (Lori Loughlin) was having. Hearties have theorized many ways his character could return – he was lost in a training exercise and had amnesia, he went deep undercover to infiltrate a crime syndicate and could not contact his family until he was done with his assignment — the list goes on and on. Whether his character returns as an apparition or a living being, there is opportunity for Jack to return, but at this time, there are no plans for his reappearance on the series.
Where was Aussie at Heart filmed?
