Maizex Corn Maze is bringing a giant Dolly Parton tribute to Alberta this fall, with its eight-acre maze designed around the late country music icon and her Imagination Library.
The design is meant to honour Parton’s music and work helping children discover the joy of reading. And if you make it out of the corn, there’s plenty more to do around the farm, including sheep races, a brand-new corn pit, farm animal interactions, and more.

What to expect at the Maizex Corn Maze
What is the Maizex Corn Maze?
Maizex Corn Maze is a 160-acre working farm near Kitscoty, Alta. Every year, the farm creates a giant eight-acre corn maze with a new design, turning part of its cornfield into an interactive puzzle for visitors to explore. Alongside the corn maze, the farm is packed with games, activities and fun for the whole family.
Why is the 2026 maze theme centred around Dolly Parton?
This year’s maze is inspired by Dolly Parton and her Imagination Library, the children’s literacy program she founded. “Our 8-acre cornfield has been transformed into a larger-than-life tribute to Dolly. Twists and turns celebrating her music, her unmistakable personality and – most importantly – the incredible work she has done to inspire children to read and dream through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library,” according to the Maizex Corn Maze.
“Whether you loved Dolly for decades or simply want a great family adventure, this year’s maze is about dreaming big, reading more and making memories together.”
Maizex is also accepting donations for the local Imagination Library program. The Lloyminster Learning Council runs the program and sends children a free, age-appropriate book every month from birth until their fifth birthday, helping make books more accessible to families in the area.
You can donate on-site at the farm or online, with the money directly supporting the local Imagination Library.
What else can you do at the Maizex Corn Maze?
While the corn maze might be the main attraction, there’s plenty happening around the farm once you make your way out of the corn. You can race ducks, try your hand at ropin’, or just hang out with the farm animals.
For 2026, the farm has also added two new activities, including a corn pit and sheep races, so there’s even more to check out.
How long does it take to go through the corn maze?
According to Maizex Corn Maze, you can expect to spend around 45 minutes to an hour making your way through the maze. Of course, it can take more or less time depending on how quickly you find your way through the twists and turns.
Is there food at the Maizex Corn Maze?
If you’re planning to spend a few hours at the farm, you won’t have to leave to grab something to eat. Maizex has an on-site concession with hot dogs, chips, ice cream, and all the essentials.
And if you’re looking to save some money, you’re more than welcome to bring your own food with you, as outside food is allowed at the farm.
What should I bring with me?
Since you’ll be spending your time outdoors, it’s a good idea to come prepared for the weather. Maizex recommends bringing comfortable shoes or boots, as some areas can be uneven or muddy, along with water, snacks, sunscreen and a hat.
You’ll also want to dress in layers if the weather is cooler, especially later in the fall.
Can I bring a stroller or wagon?
If you’ve got little ones, you’re more than welcome to bring a stroller or wagon to the maze. According to organizers, they can fit on most paths, although some areas can be a little uneven and bumpy.
What happens if it rains?
A little rain won’t necessarily stop the fun at the farm. According to organizers, the farm will remain open during light rain, but may close temporarily if there’s heavy rain, thunderstorms or unsafe weather.
Is the space pet-friendly?
Unfortunately, pets aren’t allowed at the corn maze. The farm has its own animals on-site, so visitors are asked to leave their furry friends at home.
When can I visit the farm?
Maizex Corn Maze is open Friday through Sunday until Oct. 2026, giving you lots of time to plan a fall visit. The current 2026 hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
How much does it cost to visit?
Admission to the Maizex Corn Maze is $13 per person, with children four and under getting in for free. You can pay by cash or card, and tickets are available online or at the gate.
Your admission gets you access to the corn maze and all of the activities around the farm, so you won’t need to pay separately for things like the farm games and animal interactions.
Where is Maizex Corn Maze?
Maizex Corn Maze is located between Kitscoty and Lloydminster, just off Highway 16. There aren’t any public transit buses that take you directly to the farm, so you’ll need to drive or arrange a ride. Once you arrive, free on-site parking is available.
