Drake’s ‘Fear of Missing Out’ project may have a hidden CNE clue, Canada Reviews

Drake may have popularized YOLO, but now the Toronto-based rapper is giving fans a serious case of FOMO. On Thursday, Drake announced that his mysterious new project, Fear of Missing Out, is set to premiere on YouTube on Sept. 15 at 9 p.m.

The announcement didn’t come with much of an explanation, so, naturally, the internet is trying to figure out what exactly he has planned (and there might even be a hidden clue in the Insta caption).

But before we get to that, the Easter eggs go back a few weeks. In August, Drake shared an Insta photo of the back of a CD jewel case with the words “Fear of Missing Out,” captioned with a film camera emoji. Before that, he shared a collection of old family pics with the caption “FOMO 2026.”

As for what the project is, theories range from a new album or mixtape to a tour, music video or even some kind of documentary or visual project.

As usual, Redditors have their thoughts. “What if Fomo is a physical cd/vinyl only release?” one user asked, suggesting that fans would have to buy a CD or vinyl rather than immediately stream it.

“I’m hoping it’s a Care Package type of drop where a bunch of unreleased tracks come out finally,” another Redditor wrote, while another predicted, “Maybe both. But there’s definitely a tour being announced.”

Other fans are leaning toward something more visual, especially given the YouTube premiere. One guessed it could be a “Documentary/behind-the-scenes video,” while another suggested Drake might simply be dropping “a big music video” for his album Maid of Honour.

A fourth album this year would be a bit of a surprise, maybe, considering Drake already released Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti simultaneously in May. But it isn’t entirely out of the question, especially because he said during a recent livestream that his “pen isn’t dry” yet.

But here’s the one major Toronto clue hiding in the latest announcement: Drake included a Ferris wheel emoji in the Fear of Missing Out teaser, just days after he was spotted filming near the CNE’s Ferris wheel in an Iron Man suit, leading some some fans to think the upcoming premiere could include a music video or visual project!
