Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton Opens in Jiangsu

Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton has opened at Wuxi Center 66 as the brand’s first property in Jiangsu Province.

Hang Lung Properties developed the hotel, and Hilton manages it. It comprises the former residence at No. 118 Dongdajie Street and a newly constructed building. Wuxi entrepreneur Zhang Xiaocheng and his sister, Zhang Chuquan, an obstetrician and gynecologist, built the residence in 1933.

The hotel is located at No. 65 Jiankang Road in Liangxi District, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. It is in Wuxi’s cultural heritage district, near the former residences of Qian Zhongshu, Xue Fucheng and Hua Yanjun, also known as Abing. Chong’an Temple, Nanchan Temple, Qingming Bridge Historical and Cultural District, and Huishan Ancient Town are also nearby.

The name “Xi Zhe” combines a reference to Wuxi with two characters that symbolize double blessings. The name also refers to the arrangement of the historic residence and new building.

The hotel has 105 guest rooms and suites across the two buildings. Select rooms have private courtyards, and rooms overlook surrounding gardens. Interior elements include terrazzo flooring, lattice patterns, Art Deco-style carpets, palace lantern-inspired bedside lamps, bamboo-textured headboards, plum blossom-shaped stools and pendulum wall lamps.

The lobby includes a front desk modeled on traditional medicine cabinets and a spiral staircase based on the original stairs in Zhang Xiaocheng’s former residence. The staircase design is known as “Zhuanpan Lou” or “Zouma Lou.”

SANWEI Bistro serves Wuxi flavors using contemporary culinary techniques. The hotel also offers purple clay tea rituals and Wuxi folk music performances. Now and Then – French Bistro & Bar is located within Zhang Xiaocheng’s former residence. The Artist Center in the lobby is scheduled to host cultural programs.

Facilities include four pools: indoor, outdoor, hydrotherapy and children’s pools. A pool bar is also available. The hotel offers sound bowl therapy and guided breathing sessions, plus a 24-hour fitness center, multifunctional meeting spaces and pet-friendly service.
