Star Wars Zero Company is a fantastic strategy game, but it lacks a real endgame. Once you roll credits, you’re simply encouraged to start a new save where you have some additional customization options and can recruit clone troopers from the start. While no official endgame update for Star Wars Zero Company is in sight, a fan took matters into their own hands and added a lengthy endgame mod.
What is the Star Wars Zero Company Aftermath mod?
Cafiso’s Aftermath DLC mod, which launched earlier in September but gained traction online this week, adds 1,000 more rotations (in-game days) to the strategy game. Once PC players roll credits, they can keep completing operations and missions, level up their characters, and earn more gear.
The mod doesn’t simply increase the number of rotations at players’ disposal, though. It also offers new enemy encounters and layers of progression to fill that added time. It added boss fights for Boba Fett, Palpatine, Gar Saxon, Rook Kast, Clone Commander, Purge Trooper, and Imperial Jet Trooper Commander, and turned Rex, Anakin, Cody, Baker, and Captain Crovo into recruitable characters. The player’s Den Level cap has been raised to 15, while character bonds go up to +12 and focus trees now have 11 tiers.
On top of that, players can toggle an “Aftermath Threat” system that slightly increases enemies’ health, shields, and damage after each encounter, and an “Aftermath Fatigue” system that debuffs operators if they are repeatedly used on back-to-back missions. It’s quite impressive for an unofficial fan-made mod and is much more entertaining than simply starting a new playthrough.
When it comes to official post-launch updates for Star Wars Zero Company, we unfortunately haven’t heard much. While the game has received some fixes since its release, many Bit Reactor developers were furloughed ahead of launch, making it seem unlikely any expansive DLC or endgame update is in the works. Mods like this should show EA and Bit Reactor that there is demand for more Zero Company, though.
Star Wars Zero Company is available for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. The Aftermath DLC mode is only compatible with the PC version of the game.
