Aleph Hospitality signed management agreements with the Akwa Ibom State Government for three properties in Nigeria: Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Arise Palm Resort and Ibom International Hotel and Convention Centre. The three hotels total 483 keys.
In July, Aleph Hospitality signed an agreement for the 200-key Crowne Plaza Multan in Pakistan. The hotel is due to open in 2028 and will be the company’s first property in Pakistan.
Also in July, Aleph Hospitality took over management of the 279-key Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan in Dubai, its third property for West F5 Investments.
In January, Aleph Hospitality signed the 101-key Best Western Premier Royal Golf View in Kigali, its third hotel in Rwanda.
Additional agreements include the 118-key Wimby Resort, a five-star resort in Tanzania, and two properties in Ivory Coast: the 96-key Onomo Angre in Abidjan and the 53-key Onomo Allure Koa Lodge. The two Onomo properties were signed in addition to a 26-hotel agreement with African Hotel Development concluded in 2025.
Aleph Hospitality’s portfolio comprises more than 50 hotels in 38 cities across 24 countries, representing more than 7,000 keys. The company aims to manage 100 hotels by the end of 2029.
Hotel owners in Africa are increasingly combining international brand franchise agreements with independent operators handling day-to-day operations rather than using management agreements in which hotel chains run the properties. Aleph Hospitality and W Hospitality Group plan to issue a report on franchised projects in the African pipeline, where the number of franchised projects rose from 40 in 2020 to 146 this year.
Aleph Hospitality also announced several executive appointments. Abdellah Essonni joined in April as regional vice president for North Africa and is based in Casablanca. Rob Kucera was appointed regional vice president for East and South Africa in August and is based in Cape Town.
At the company’s Dubai head office, Aline Barhouche joined as chief human resources officer, and Marc Matar joined as vice president of food and beverage. Estelle Chambost was promoted to vice president of learning and development.
