Calgary is getting a free Halloween market with tarot and horror movies

6 October 20263 Mins Read

Halloween weekend is just a few weeks away, and if you’ve yet to make any plans, The Confluence is hosting a two-day celebration lined up with plenty to check out. Frights and Delights is taking over the historic site, with different spooky events happening each day.

Friday night will be for adults and will feature a Halloween market, tarot readings, true crime tours, and horror movies, while Halloween day will have family-friendly activities, including crafts, games, and trick-or-treating.

Now let’s take a look at everything you need to know about Frights and Delights at the Confluence.

What to expect at Frights and Delights

What is Frights and Delights?

Frights and Delights is The Confluence’s two-day Halloween event happening over Halloween weekend. Rather than a single Halloween activity, the event is split into two experiences: Boos and Brews on Friday night for adults, and Fright Family Fest on Halloween for all ages.

When is the event happening?

The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. It will run from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

What will happen on Friday?

Friday will be an adults-only night, with Boos and Brews running from 4 to 10 p.m. You’ll have the chance to browse the Halloween market across two floors, packed with creepy activations, join a true crime tour, or settle in for a couple of horror movies.

What will happen on Saturday?

On Saturday, the Frightful Family Fest will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature another market, plus crafts for kids and Halloween-themed games. Trick-or-treating will also run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so come dressed in your best costume and get ready to collect treats.

Is the event free to attend?

Frights and Delights is free to attend, so you don’t need to register or buy a ticket to browse the Halloween market or take part in trick-or-treating. However, it’s important to note that some individual activities may have their own costs.

The Confluence Cultural Centre will also be free to enter during the event, so you can check out some of its latest exhibits.

Where is Frights and Delights taking place?

The event will be hosted at The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland in southeast Calgary. If you’re driving, on-site parking will be available, although it is paid.

The site currently has construction along 9th Avenue SE, so while the parking lot will remain accessible, one of the two entrances may be closed at times.

There are also several nearby parking options if the main lot is full, including lots in East Village and Inglewood. The site is also just a short walk from downtown, and the City Hall LRT station is just three blocks away.

So start planning your costume and get ready for Halloween weekend at The Confluence.

When: Friday, Oct. 30 to Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: Friday: 4 p.m., Saturday: 5 p.m.
Where: The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland – 750 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free (purchase required for additional activities)
