A $10 million Toronto architect’s home is everything you’d hope it would be

19 February 20253 Mins Read

There’s something about architects’ and designers’ own homes that just hits different.

It’s probably because they aren’t limited by clients’ preferences and they are free to be creative and experiment with materials, finishes, layouts and whatever else their heart desires.

And while sometimes that leads to some odd houses, in the case of 210 Glenayr Road, it led to a truly stunning home.

The family room.

The house, which was only completed last year, was designed and built by Homa Nexa Atelier for Amir Hossein Homayouni, a.k.a. the founder and architect behind Homa Nexa Atelier.

The living room.

And Homayouni really outdid himself with 210 Glenayr Rd.

The dining room.

The 7,760 square-foot home is sophisticated and elegant with a harmonious blend of traquility and modernity.

The interior of the garden house.

There are also plenty of details that you’d only ever see in an architect’s own home.

210 Glenayr Road Toronto

A home office.

For example, the entire house is built with steel framing, which is exceptionally durable — you’ll never have to worry about rotted structures or squeaky floors.

The kitchen.

The main floor has a open-concept layout with soaring ceilings and tons of natural light thanks to the oversized floor-to-ceiling windows and a calming natural palette.

Soaring ceilings in the family room.

Even though the house is decked out in mostly beige tones, it’s not at all boring thanks to the rich mixture of textures and materials.

A bedroom.

210 Glenayr Rd. boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The primary bedroom.

The primary suite is at the very top of the house, and really plays into the indoor-outdoor vibes.

The primary ensuite bathroom.

It has large windows, built-in planters and an ensuite bathroom that feels like it’s outdoors thanks to the river rock flooring and multiple skylights.

The basement.

The lower level of the house is complete with a wet bar, a wine cellar and a home theatre, making it perfect for entertaining.

Views of the backyard.

But where 210 Glenayr Rd. really shines is the backyard.

210 Glenayr Road Toronto

The backyard in the summer.

The property has one of the city’s first approved garden houses, which is almost as stunning as the main home.

Mood lighting in the backyard really enhances the space.

The landscpaing, outdoor kitchen and pool — complete with a stunning waterfall feature — really bring zen-like vibes to the space.

210 Glenayr Road Toronto

The home theatre.

There are also, of course, plenty of other luxury amenties in the home, like snow melt systems for the driveway and walkways, an elevator and an indoor garage with four parking spaces.

210 Glenayr Road Toronto

The back of the house.

210 Glenayr Rd. is listed for $10,000,000.
