B.C. is home to some incredible stays, from idyllic Airbnbs in the forest to renowned mountain resorts to adorable beachside cottages. Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards give great insight into some of the best of the best, based on the highest number of top reviews over 12 months. With the 2025 list officially out, it’s time to recognize the best hotels in Canada – the large majority of which happen to be in B.C.
The ranking looks at stays that check all the boxes, including outstanding service, comfortable rooms, and amenities. According to Tripadvisor, less than one per cent of eight million listings achieve this title.
“Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Hotels captures the opinions of millions of travellers worldwide and offers trusted guidance for travellers to plan their best stays,” says Kristen Dalton, president of Tripadvisor. “Known for their outstanding hospitality, premium amenities and prime locations, Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Hotels stand out as top choices in their respective destinations and across the globe.”
The top-rated hotel in Canada is Vancouver Island’s own Abigail’s Hotel — a charming, 30-room stay housed in a 1930s Tudor-style mansion. Think peak romance, historical charm, and modern comforts like jetted soaker tubs and complimentary gourmet breakfasts.
Eager to see which other hotels made the cut? The top four in Canada are on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver, with more scattered throughout the list across B.C.
