A cliffside lookout near Toronto has views that will take your breath away

25 June 20252 Mins Read

We’re in our hiking era this summer! Rattlesnake Point, a conservation area just one hour by car from Toronto, has some incredible trails to hike, including a trail that leads to a cliffside lookout with views that will take your breath away.

Let’s start with what seems to be the most popular spot at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area, known for its beautiful views. Buffalo Crag Lookout Point.

This hike is scenic and not too difficult, taking you to beautiful lookout points overlooking the Nassagaweya Canyon. Don’t forget to snap some photos before you move on to the other trails.

Next up, the Nassagaweya Trail. This trail connects Rattlesnake Point to the nearby Crawford Lake, which has a boardwalk around a beautiful blue-green lake.

When you loop back around, you’ll notice something pretty cool as you pass by the escarpment. Along the escarpment, you’ll see cedars that date back more than 800 years. The cedars are as beautiful as they are delicate and special, so be sure to treat the area with respect as you pass through.

You can book a day pass ahead of time or pay at the gate, which has gate attendants from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Day passes cost $10.5 plus tax per adult.

Take in the gorgeous views and have a great time at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area.
