A complete guide to Toronto’s High Park North neighbourhood

10 September 20253 Mins Read

If you know Toronto, you know High Park. But we’re not talking about the sprawling, Central Park-esque green space; we mean the neighbourhood just above it. If we’re getting technical, it’s called High Park North.

Located in Toronto’s west end, this little piece of paradise stretches from Runnymede, along Bloor, east to Dundas West, north to Humberside Avenue, up Quebec Street and ending on Annette.

Just steps from Toronto’s largest public park, this area is the perfect blend of urban fun and outdoor charm. Here you’ll find a number of residential streets but also a ton of stores worth exploring.

With three subway stops within its borders, getting here is pretty easy. Transit-friendly, bike lanes and walkable destinations, it’s a great place to explore.

So if you’re curious about what makes High Park North a beloved area, here’s your guide to one of Toronto’s most popular spots.

Shopping

Though it’s not much for shopping sprees, this neighbourhood has a number of local stores that offer goods from pet supplies to sporting equipment, and even repair shops.

Some of those stores include:

Where to eat

Now, for foodies, you’ve come to the right place. Sweet, savoury, you name it, it’s here. Toronto is filled (and we mean filled) with the best food options.

You’ll find some delicious Indian eats at Bawara, fresh pies at King Slice, and delicious rolls to-go at Usagi Sushi.

As for dessert, here’s where you’ll find the best cookies in Toronto, and I’m not joking. Andrea’s Cookies opened its first storefront in the city right here in High Park. It grew so much in popularity that two more locations have opened in the city since. You’ll find the OG location at 1632 Bloor St. W.

Other must-try spots include:

Activities

As we’ve mentioned before, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. Head to the park and embark on one of the numerous trails available for walking, running, and cycling.

There’s a lot to discover here, including the Hillside Gardens. These are known for their beautiful natural scenery, perfect for photo ops.

Now, do yourself a favour and hit up High Park. It’s an all-season adventure!
