After eight timeline-hopping seasons across the Scottish Highlands, Outlander comes to a close this year. But MGM+ is ensuring the beloved period romance ends on a high note with an orchestral send-off.
Outlander in Concert: Echoes Through the Highlands is a new concert series that allows longtime fans to experience a live orchestra performing Bear McCreary’s enchanting score, alongside memorable scenes from Jamie and Claire’s inter-generational saga from the hugely popular sci-fi romance.
When and where can I watch Outlander live in concert?
The inaugural performance opens on May 30 at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall. That gig on the show’s home turf is sold out, but fans across Europe and North America can book for dates from September to next March.
The tour includes several cities in the US, along with European detours to France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. For UK fans of Outlander, they can look forward to performances in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Glasgow.
Where can I buy my tickets?
You can sign up for tickets on the event’s official website. Edinburgh and Paris are already sold out, but there are enough spots for the other locations.
How long will the performances last?
As per the event website, the show will run for around two hours with a 20-minute interval.
Is the Outlander universe ending this year?
Outlander’s eight-season run ends with the series finale on May 15. But the franchise only keeps on expanding as the second season of its prequel Outlander: Blood of my Blood is set to premiere later this year. And given the source material’s author Diana Gabaldon is still working on the tenth Outlander novel A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out, the fantasy series is not low on epic television potential.
