Toronto’s Cry Baby Gallery is ringing in the Chinese New Year with an exhilarating five-day art, culture and luxury pop-up.
Starting Feb. 17, 2026, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will usher in the Year of the Fire Horse with Fire Horse Club. Described as a bold pop-up, the experience will take over Cry Baby Gallery.
“In the Chinese zodiac, the Fire Horse is one of the most powerful and rare alignments, occurring only once every 60 years,” shares organizers.
“It symbolizes independence, confidence, passion, and momentum, a year associated with bold beginnings, creative risk-taking, and decisive action. The Fire Horse energy is widely believed to ignite movement across art, fashion, travel, and culture, making 2026 a year to lead, create, and step forward without hesitation.”
What to expect
Fire Horse Club will highlight new work by Toronto-based, internationally recognized artist Peter Chan. Taking Hong Kong visual culture, calligraphy, symbolism, and notions of identity as inspiration, Chan reinterprets classical aesthetics through a contemporary lens.
The pop-up will debut new works ahead of its presentation during Art Basel Week in Hong Kong this March 2026.
Toronto can enjoy an early look at the works of art while also sipping on curated cocktails. Channelling Hong Kong’s signature blend of luxury, nightlife, and creative energy, the experience includes a Lucky 3-4-9 cocktail menu, inspired by Hong Kong flavours and numerology.
“Chinese New Year is one of the most important moments of the year in Hong Kong; it’s when the city comes alive with energy, creativity, and celebration,” said Jorge Lee, senior manager of marketing and public relations at Hong Kong Tourism Board.
“With Fire Horse Club, we wanted to bring that same sense of excitement and possibility to Toronto, celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse through art, luxury, and cultural exchange, while inspiring audiences to experience Hong Kong for themselves.”
The pop-up will open to the public starting Feb. 18 and will run until Feb. 20, 2026.
Celebrate the Chinese New Year with culture, art, and drinks.
