Vancouver is not exactly known for its rooftop bars or parties, but all that is about to change. Hosted by Light Organ Records, Summerlight Music Festival is returning this summer with a brand new Railtown Roof Party atop a parking garage, and it’s completely free to attend. Indie and alternative artists from across B.C. will perform on the revamped Summerlight Stage for its biggest year yet!
Hosted in partnership with the Strathcona Business Improvement Association, this one-of-a-kind experience will bring foodies, live music lovers, and creatives together for a full day of summer fun.
“We’re building more than just a festival — we’re celebrating a creative ecosystem,” says Joseph Martin, Light Organ Records manager and one of the festival organizers. “The Railtown Rooftop Party is about giving artists a platform, bringing neighbours together, and showing what’s possible when culture and community connect.”
While the artist lineup is still under wraps, the festival is set to feature an open-air bar with craft beverages and sponsor activations, an array of artisan vendors and local food trucks that reflect the spirit of the Railtown community.
Curious what kind of music you can expect to hear? Before the festival this August, Light Organ Records is releasing a two-part live compilation album featuring exclusive performances recorded live at last year’s festival.
Performing artists from the 2024 festival include Aiko Tomi, Post Modern Connection, Haleluya Hailu and WAASH.
So mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, and stay tuned for more details on what to expect as they come.
