A guide to Calgary’s most Instagram-worthy photo spots

If your Instagram feed is in need of a little TLC, it’s time to step up your photo game!

Calgary is home to plenty of unique photo spots ranging from murals and hidden corners to rooftops with panoramic views of the city.

Whether you’re looking for the perfect backdrop or want to get a new perspective on the city, these locations will definitely have your followers impressed.

To the naked eye, SAIT may look like a regular college campus, but if you take a closer look, it’s full of hidden photo ops.

Snap a photo at the soccer field that has skyline views, or head over to Heritage hall where you can capture a timeless, historic vibe that feels like you’ve left the city.

When: Anytime (campus is always open)
Time:
Golden hour from 2 to 4:30 p.m. (best for skyline shots)
Where:
1301 16th Ave. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free

Central Memorial Park is one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the city.

This is the perfect spot if you’re someone who loves to walk around, explore, and snap a few photos. It has plenty of historic monuments, green spaces and paths lined with trees, along with a stunning fountain.

When: Open 24 hours
Time:
Golden hour from 2 to 4:30 p.m. (best for photos)
Where:
1221 2nd St. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free

This street is essentially a content goldmine. From the 17 bold murals to the trendy storefronts, there is no shortage of spots to capture content here.

The best way to explore 17th? Start at one end and make your way down! By the time you’ve reached the other end, you will have a camera roll full of photos.

While the Platform is used as a tech building on the inside, its modern exterior makes it the perfect spot for an Instagram shot.

If you head to the top of the building, you can find one of the best parkades in the city with crystal-clear views of the Calgary Tower and the mountains.

When: Open 24 hours
Time:
Parkade open 24 hours (restrictions from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Where:

If taking photos outdoors isn’t your thing, head over to Contemporary Calgary and explore the local art the city has to offer.

The gallery’s natural light and textured walls make it easy to capture content that feels intentional and sophisticated.

When: Wednesday to Saturday, noon to 7 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
