A pay-what-you-can thrift sale is popping up in Calgary this weekend

2 April 20263 Mins Read

A pay-what-you-can thrift sale is popping up in Calgary this weekend, offering a unique shopping experience rooted in community, accessibility, and giving back. Hosted by Garam Glam, this event goes beyond the traditional thrifting experience, creating a space where everyone can shop with dignity while supporting a meaningful cause. The event is completely free to attend, making it an accessible way for the community to take part.

About the event

At the thrift sale, shoppers can expect a thoughtfully curated selection of secondhand clothing and accessories. The collection includes popular brands such as Aritzia and surrounding labels like TNA, Wilfred, Sunday Best, and Babaton, along with pieces from Levi’s, Nike, and Lululemon. Additionally, attendees will also find a variety of vintage and Y2K pieces, making it easy to discover something unique while shopping sustainably.

All proceeds from this sale go directly toward providing warmth kits and essential resources to vulnerable women and children in Calgary. Every dollar spent stays within the community and supports a mission centred on warmth, equity, wellness, and care for those who are often overlooked.

The event is designed to foster a sense of connection and community. The pay-what-you-can model is designed to keep things accessible while encouraging thoughtful, intentional shopping. It’s the perfect chance to score unique, pre-loved items while supporting a cause that is making an impact on vulnerable women and children in Calgary.

Plan your visit

Taking place April 4 to April 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the NVR LND. Arts Foundation, the sale offers plenty of time to stop by and explore everything available. With free entry, it’s an easily accessible way to spend part of your long weekend, all while supporting a meaningful cause. Visitors are encouraged to take their time browsing the curated selection of clothing, bring a friend, and discover unique pieces at their own pace. Since the event operates on a pay-what-you-can model, visitors can choose what feels right for them while contributing directly to a cause that gives back to the Calgary community.

When: Saturday, April 4 to Sunday, April 5, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: 1048 21st Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free
