A town full of orchards & farms is known as the ‘fruit basket of Ontario’

12 June 20252 Mins Read

Fresh fruits and veggies, anyone? Lincoln, Ontario, is the place to be if you’re looking for some delicious produce. In fact, the small town is known as the “fruit basket of Ontario” because of its orchards and farms.

Lincoln can be found nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario. While the town is small, it has a lot to offer, including 50 wineries, farms with fresh fruit and vegetables, flower farms, and beautiful nature trails.

Lincoln Line Orchards is one of the orchards in the area, caring for 50 acres of fruit production, growing apples, pears, peaches, and plums.

Mountainview Orchard is another spot that is growing and selling delicious produce. Throughout the summer, you can expect fresh picks such as:

  • Strawberries
  • Cherries
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchini
  • Cucumbers
  • Peppers
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Mushrooms
  • Potatoes

If you prefer your fruit in the form of a tall glass of wine, Lincoln has you covered.

Wineries in the region are plentiful! Malivoire, Thirty Bench, Cave Spring Cellars, Legends Estates, and Corner Stone, just to name a few, are popular choices in the summertime.

According to the Town of Lincoln website, there’s also no shortage of trails and hikes to enjoy.

“With 35 km of trails and 19 parks featuring over 210 acres of open public space, the opportunity to connect with nature is abundant in Lincoln,” says the town site.

The Bartlett Creek Trail, Millennium Forest Trail, Twenty Valley Trail and Konkle Creek Trail are all easy walking trails and are open to the public.
