MHR Capital Group has begun construction on a new AC Hotels by Marriott in Kennewick, Washington, in partnership with A1 Hospitality Group and Fowler Construction.

A MHR Capital Group is developing a new hotel in Kennewick, Washington. This project, a collaboration with A1 Hospitality Group and Fowler Construction, marks the introduction of the AC Hotels by Marriott brand to the Tri-Cities area. The hotel is strategically linked to the expansion of the Three Rivers Convention Center (TRCC), which aims to boost the region’s capacity to host regional and national events.

Located in a Qualified Opportunity Zone, the development is designed to offer tax advantages to investors under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Idaho Central Credit Union, through Bellevue Capital Group, covers the debt portion of the project’s financing.

This development is part of a larger master plan that includes future phases of over 550 residential units and more than 200,000 square feet of retail space, benefiting from the Opportunity Zone’s tax-advantaged structure.

The hotel’s construction is a significant addition to Kennewick’s hospitality landscape and part of a broader economic strategy to enhance local economic activity through increased event tourism and retail opportunities. The connection to the TRCC expansion is anticipated to significantly enhance the area’s appeal as a destination for large-scale events.
