Accor has announced plans to open a Novotel hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, marking the company’s entry into the Zimbabwean market. The project, scheduled for completion in 2028, will be located in the Eagle Heights precinct, overlooking the Masuwe River.
The new development will feature 111 rooms and will be managed under an agreement with Eagle Real Estate Investment Trust. The property aims to cater to leisure and business travelers, offering amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a kids’ club, an all-day dining restaurant, and a destination bar.
The signing took place during the Future Hospitality Summit Africa, highlighting Accor’s strategic move into emerging markets. Victoria Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for adventure tourism, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya.
This project represents a strategic entry for Accor into a region with increasing tourism demand and limited presence of global hotel brands. The development aligns with Accor’s strategy to expand its footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Novotel brand, which has over 590 hotels worldwide, will offer accommodations aimed at both business travelers and families.
The partnership with Eagle Real Estate Investment Trust reflects a focus on high-quality assets across various sectors, including tourism and hospitality. The introduction of an internationally branded hotel in Victoria Falls is expected to support the area’s growth as a year-round destination.
