Air Miles collectors in Canada should know about some changes to the loyalty program that have taken effect.
The company announced a new set of features on Tuesday, intending to give users “greater choice, flexibility and convenience.”
“As cost-of-living pressures continue to rise, we’re committed to empowering every single collector across the country with the necessary tools and flexibility they need to redeem rewards quicker,” said Kat Carl-Musson, head of marketing at Air Miles, in a statement.
Here are the three new features that have already kicked in.
Transfer Air Miles
Blue collectors can now transfer up to 500 Air Miles per year between Cash Miles and Dream Miles and vice versa. The loyalty program says this gives them the flexibility to get closer to short-term redemptions or save towards a big bucket list reward.
The transfer miles option, which was first introduced in June 2024, initially only allowed Gold and Onyx Air Miles collectors to convert Dream Miles to Cash Miles and vice versa.
Onyx collectors had unlimited transfers, while Gold collectors were limited to 1,000 Miles annually. Air Miles says it’s now increasing the transfer limit for Gold collectors to 3,000 Miles daily.
“Since the feature was introduced, these collectors have transferred more than 160 million Miles and redeemed over 123 million of those Miles,” according to the company.
“Nearly half (45 per cent) of these redemptions were used for eVouchers at brands such as Amazon, Walmart, UberEats, and redtag.ca, suggesting that Canadians are looking to save on everyday essentials and treat themselves with accessible rewards.”
Buy Air Miles
As of March 4, 2025, Air Miles members can buy Dream Miles for 20 cents in increments of either 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 per transaction.
The company says this new feature provides an easy and accessible option to help collectors in Canada who are close to redeeming for a reward but don’t have enough Air Miles banked.
New Air Miles partners in Canada
The rewards program has added 26 new partners since relaunching the brand six months ago.
Recent additions to its roster include major brands like Lyft, Ashley, Marble Slab Creamery, Hayu and Emma Sleep.
“We’re thrilled to introduce these expanded program features, which, in conjunction with adding new partners, offer Canadians more opportunity to earn and redeem, bringing them closer to their next reward moment,” added Carl-Musson.
