Ballet flats had a moment recently, and honestly, it makes sense. Flats are a pretty good choice if you’re not in the mood for heels but need nice shoes for something. This coming week, Aldi is going to drop a couple of pairs of flats that are not only stylish but also nearly identical to designer styles out there—Prada and Margaux, specifically—which are up to almost 144 times the price.
From April 16 to April 22, Aldi will be selling Serra Ladies Flats for only $7.99. They’re only going to be around while supplies last, and with how chic they are, they might go quickly. In total, Aldi is releasing two different styles of flats, with one of them being classic ballet flats. The other style is a pointed-toe flat shoe, which comes in two colors.

These flats, along with a pointed toe, are also a slingback style, meaning that they have a closed-toe front portion with a strap that goes around the back of the shoe. These, in particular, have another strap around the bridge of the foot, most likely for stability and style. That strap has a buckle you can adjust to make it tighter or looser, whereas the slingback strap has elastic.
This style comes in two colors: nude/cream and gold. The nude/cream shoe is definitely more of a cream, off-white color. The whole shoe is this color as well as the straps, and it has a gold buckle. The gold shoe is a lovely metallic gold (but not gaudy), and the straps and buckle are also gold.

The Crosby Sling, $335 at Margaux
The pointed-toe Aldi flats look a lot like styles by designer brands out there, such as Margaux’s The Crosby Sling shoe. These slingback flats cost $335 and have nearly the same exact design as Aldi’s shoes. They are flat and have a pointed toe and a slingback strap with a strap over the bridge of the foot. They also come in the color Ecru Nappa, which is very similar to Aldi’s cream.
Prada Patent Leather Slingback Ballerinas, $1,150 at Saks Fifth Avenue
There’s also Prada’s Patent Leather Slingback Ballerinas, which has a similar design too. This one costs a whopping $1,150 at Saks Fifth Avenue and has all of those same elements (flat, a slingback strap, a bridge strap and a gold buckle). The toe isn’t pointed, though, and is meant to look like the box of a ballerina’s pointe shoe. The color beige khaki is also similar to Aldi’s cream-colored flats.
Crystal Strap Slingback Flats (Aida), $138 at C. Paravano
C. Paravano also has a lookalike shoe, but one that matches Aldi’s gold flats. Their Crystal Strap Slingback Flats (Aida) cost $138 and have all of the same features along with a pointed-toe. Their gold color is also a similar metallic gold that’s very chic. The main difference is that these have a crystal strap, as the name suggests, with no buckle.
Naturalizer Women’s Hawaii Closed Pointed Toe Slingback Flats, $120 at Macy’s
And lastly, we have Naturalizer’s Women’s Hawaii Closed Pointed Toe Slingback Flats, which cost $120 at Macy’s. These might be the most different from Aldi’s flat shoes, but they are visually still very similar. These have a pointed toe and a strap that goes around the back of the foot. However, it’s not a sling strap. Instead, it’s one continuous strap (but it does still go over the bridge of the foot).
So if you’re interested in some new shoes for spring to go with a nice outfit or two, these Aldi Serra Flats are worth checking out.
