KHP Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in full-service hotels and resorts, has announced that Alex Lewis will join the company as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Lewis will oversee legal, regulatory, risk management, and compliance matters at KHP. She is taking over from Judy Miles, who will remain at the company as an Executive Advisor.
Before joining KHP, Lewis was a partner in the Real Estate Industry group at Goodwin Procter LLP. She has considerable experience advising stakeholders such as private equity funds, real estate investment managers, developers, and public REITs on commercial real estate transactions. Her expertise covers equity investments, senior construction and mezzanine financings, and acquisitions and dispositions. Lewis was recently recognized as a leading commercial real estate lawyer in the 2024 Lawyers in Real Estate Awards by Connect CRE.
Lewis holds a JD from Columbia Law School and a BA from McGill University. Her appointment comes as KHP is actively investing in KHP Fund VI, a $300 million equity fund that aims to leverage the firm’s expertise in hotel operations, development, and lifestyle hotels to seek out complex value-add opportunities.
The firm’s recent investments include The Hotel Viking in Newport, RI, The Johnston Building, a redevelopment project in Charlotte, NC, scheduled for completion in late 2026, and the Pan Pacific Hotel in Seattle, WA, set to relaunch as 1 Hotel Seattle in early May.
