Gather round, Calgary. We’ve compiled the ultimate list of ghastly, ghoulish and downright harrowing activities to take part in this Oct. 31.

Halloween’s origins come from the Celtic celebration of Samhain — a holiday marking the end of the harvest and beginning of winter — and is set to land on Friday, Oct. 31 this year.

Calgarians love to take part in the fun, with jack-o-lanterns at the doorstep, whimsical decorations, and candy to hand out to eager kids in costume.

Whether you’re looking for a scare or some good, old-fashioned Halloween fun, there’s plenty to do in and around the city this All Hallows’ Eve.

If you’d rather skip the trick-or-treating, here’s our roundup of all the most spooktacular events happening during this haunted holiday.

Two back-to-back nights of spooky fun are coming to Ranchman’s! Show up in costume for a chance to win $500, and groove along to live music from Brandon Lorenzo both nights.

Enjoy an exclusive Halloween sleepover full of creepy science, freaky findings and eerie experiments at Spark!

Join the celebration for the Hindu festival of lights in Halloween masquerade fashion.

Everyone’s favourite pumpkin-themed extravaganza is back for another year in Calgary — now this is Halloween!

All aboard! Canada’s only moving haunted house is back with an unforgettably terrifying evening you won’t forget.

Time: Fridays and Saturdays departing at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
