Former TV personalities Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes is giving fans advice on a subject they’ve both been accused of — cheating.
In their “Ask Amy and T.J.” column on Yahoo, a woman wrote in seeking guidance about whether she should get back together with her boyfriend who cheated on her with a colleague.
Though they broke up years ago over the scandal, she noticed he’s been frequently viewing her social media and asked the former “GMA3” hosts if reconciliation might be a good idea.
“Should you go back to him? My answer is no,” Robach, 52, advised. “You broke up for a reason, and I don’t believe that someone cheats out of the blue. It obviously spoke to the quality of your relationship.”
She questioned what the woman thought had changed about her ex, noting, “You were dating for five years and just starting to talk about marriage, and he didn’t have a job?”
Robach doubted that the ex, who now has a job and a pet, had truly “changed” in the way the woman hoped.
Holmes, 47, agreed with his romantic partner, and didn’t hold back in his blunt response either.
“All he did was like your posts? You’re reading tea leaves. Calm down,” he wrote. “I think you might be making excuses for wanting him back … Have you been sitting around waiting for him for two years?”
“And now you think he’s improved because he’s got a f–king pet, and now he’s cool? I don’t think anything that you know of has actually changed about this man,” he added.
While Robach said she wouldn’t discourage someone from giving love another chance, she emphasized going in “with open eyes” if the woman decides to reach out.
Holmes, however, remained firm, urging her to “raise your standards” and not reopen old wounds.
The couples latest advice comes after they faced accusations of a months-long affair in November 2022.
The Daily Mail published photos of them holding hands in New York City in May 2022, while Robach was still legally married to Andrew Shue and Holmes to Marilee Fiebig.
Since then, both have insisted there was no cheating involved.
“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case,” Holmes said on their “Amy & T.J.” podcast in December 2023.
