Amy Robach is getting real about her past relationships on the I Do, Part 2 podcast. The former TV journalist is offering new insight into her whirlwind engagement to second husband Andrew Shue—and she admits she’s not proud of how quickly things moved.
During the May 21 episode of I Do, Part 2, the former GMA3 host—who recently sparked engagement rumors with partner T.J. Holmes—referred to her brief engagement to Shue as “embarrassing.” The remark came as she and Holmes discussed how long they dated their former spouses before marriage.
Robach began by reflecting on her first marriage to Tim McIntosh, whom she was married to from 1996 to 2009. The couple, who share two daughters, dated for a year before getting engaged.

Things moved much faster in her second marriage. Robach and former Melrose Place star Andrew Shue tied the knot in 2010, ten months of meeting. She now calls the quick engagement “a little embarrassing.” The couple were married for roughly 12 years, co-parenting their combined five children, before Robach’s relationship with Holmes became public in November 2022.

Robach later clarified that she and Shue were separated when she began a romantic relationship with Holmes. At the time, Holmes and his ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig, had not publicly confirmed their split, though their divorce was finalized in October 2023.

Robach’s engagement confession comes on the heels of speculation that she and Holmes are engaged or married, after she appeared at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March 2025 wearing a large diamond ring on that finger. The rumors intensified following the release of the I Do, Part 2 episode, during which Holmes referred to Robach as his “spouse.”
