Andy Cohen is eating his words, becoming the “Jackhole” of the day on Watch What Happens Live after the Dancing With the Stars community roasted him for criticizing Julia Stiles.
Cohen’s past criticism of Stiles came back to haunt him this season when Stiles told her DWTS partner, Ezra Sosa, that Cohen had said she couldn’t dance. Sosa promptly snarked that Cohen was a “diva,” and after Stiles and Sosa earned one of the night’s top scores, judge Derek Hough delivered his own message: “Andy Cohen, you can eat it!”
Stiles and Sosa went on to impress the judges, and Cohen is now apologizing, even challenging viewers to give him the 10 Things I Hate About You treatment by flooding his inbox with their grievances. Stiles famously starred in the iconic comedy opposite Heath Ledger, which was based on William Shakespeare’s classic comedy The Taming of the Shrew.
Proving he was in no position to criticize anyone’s dance moves, Cohen even replayed a now-famous clip of himself enthusiastically grooving at a Grateful Dead concert—a clip that went viral for Cohen’s decidedly unconventional moves.
Cohen’s dance credentials, meanwhile, have been a running internet joke long before Stiles entered the DWTS ballroom. A video of the Bravo boss dancing at a Dead & Company concert went viral on TikTok in 2024, with viewers poking fun at his moves. Bravo reported at the time that the clip had racked up more than 1 million views, while Cohen himself seemed unfazed, reposting it with the message, “TAKE ME BACK!”
And Cohen has since admitted that the joke is fair game. In an August interview with Variety, he revealed that DWTS had approached him years ago, but he turned down the opportunity because, as he put it, “I can’t dance on TV. No one wants to see that.” He also acknowledged that his Grateful Dead dance videos regularly wind up on TikTok, where people make fun of him.
So when Cohen pulled out that footage while apologizing to Stiles, he wasn’t exactly fighting the evidence. He was practically submitting Exhibit A himself.
