Welcome to your weekly look-ahead at what’s hitting Netflix in the United States over the next seven days. It’s going to be a blockbuster week for the streamer, with a highly anticipated sci-fi spin-off, returning comedy favorites, and a major SVOD movie premiere headlining the April 20th to April 26th, 2026 roster.

On the removals front, today is your very last day to watch all the James Bond movies before they depart overnight. Elsewhere, we’d recommend watching Murder at Yellowstone City (2022) before it departs at the end of the week. Sony Pictures’ first-window movie Daddio, starring Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson, is also set to leave later in the week, and it’s well worth a watch.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (Season 1) Netflix Original

While we continue to patiently wait for the monumental fifth and final season of the flagship show to arrive, the Duffer Brothers are holding us over with our first proper expansion of the Stranger Things television universe.

This brand-new animated anthology series dials the clock back to the neon-drenched summer of 1985. Promising a mix of Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia and that signature Hawkins sci-fi horror, the series explores unseen adventures that took place right before the events of Season 3. If you’re suffering from Demogorgon withdrawals, this is going to be an absolute must-watch.

Bugonia (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Sunday

Making its (partial) SVOD debut on Netflix US as part of the ongoing Pay-1 output deal with Universal Pictures is Bugonia, the latest mind-bending sci-fi comedy from visionary director Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness).

Starring his frequent collaborators Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, the film is an Oscar-nominated English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet!. It follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, entirely convinced she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. It’s bizarre, darkly hilarious, and exactly the kind of eccentric cinema that makes for a fantastic weekend movie night.

Mindy Kaling’s hit sports comedy series is back on the court for its sophomore season!

Kate Hudson returns as Isla Gordon, the unpredictable and newly appointed president of the legendary Los Angeles Waves basketball franchise. Following the dramatic shakeups in the front office at the end of season one, Isla is now facing the pressure of an entire city—and her highly skeptical family—as she tries to lead the team to a championship.
