Attack on Titan studio joins Star Wars Visions in new trailer

26 September 20253 Mins Read

Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled the new trailer for Star Wars: Visions volume 3, set to release on Disney Plus this upcoming October. And as Visions does every season, it’s bringing a score of amazing animation studios along for the ride.

The second season of Star Wars: Visions featured a variety of different creators from around the world, including Studio La Cachette from France, known for their work on Love, Death and Robots (2019) and Devil May Cry (2025), as well as the British animation studio behind Wallace and Gromit, Aardman. This time around, Star Wars: Visions will go back to Japan, with all nine shorts produced and directed by nine different Japanese anime studios.

While some of these powerhouse studios have been involved in the first season, such as Kamikaze Douga, Production I.G., Studio Trigger, Project Studio Q, and Kinema Citrus, several studios will be working for the first time on Visions. These include Wit Studio, Project No. 9, Polygon Pictures, and David Production.

Anime fans will recognize huge names such as Wit Studio, known for its work on the world-shattering anime series Attack on Titan and other works like Spy x Family and the first season of Vinland Saga. Then there’s David Production, whose notable works include JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Fire Force, and Cells at Work!

Wit Studio will be handling Visions’ sixth episode, “The Bounty Hunters,” directed by Ken Yamamoto. Episode details are scarce, but with Visions usually focusing on the Force, Jedi, and Sith, I won’t lie and say I’m not a little excited to see what the studio will do with a story that isn’t so Force-adjacent.

David Production, which is also working on the anticipated Steel Ball Run anime, will be handling the third volume’s ninth episode, “BLACK.” Polygon had the chance to watch the episode during AnimeNYC this year, where we described it as “a highly experimental short” that blends “psychedelic visuals with minimal dialogue, and set to a jazzy Fujiwara Sakura score that evokes the vibe of Mos Eisley.”

Alongside incredible studios, big names featured in the shorts have also been revealed, including George Takei, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, Steve Buscemi, Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, Harvey Guillen, Judith Light, and a pleasantly surprising return of Jodie Turner-Smith, who played Mother Aniseya in The Acolyte.

With elite anime studios and a star-studded cast, Visions‘ third volume already looks plenty intriguing. Star Wars: Visions volume 3 will be released exclusively on Disney Plus on Oct. 29.
