Banyan Group has announced new resort openings and expansion initiatives in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia, following the opening of its 100th property and other milestones in 2025.

Banyan Group reported it will enter 2026 with a series of new developments across multiple regions, following the opening of its 100th hotel and resort in 2025. The group currently operates 100 hotels and resorts, over 140 spas and galleries, and more than 20 branded residences in over 20 countries.

In Africa, Banyan Group will open Ubuyu, a Banyan Tree Escape in Tanzania, marking its first safari resort and debut in East Africa. In West Africa, the group plans to open Dhawa Ouidah in Benin, extending its presence in the region.

In the Caribbean, Banyan Group will establish operations in the Dominican Republic with the openings of Angsana Cap Cana and Cassia Punta Cana, introducing both resort and extended-stay options.

In Europe, the group will reopen Mamula Island by Banyan Tree in Montenegro for the 2026 season, following design enhancements, updates to dining concepts, and expanded spa and wellbeing programming.

Across Asia and the Middle East, Banyan Group will continue its multi-brand strategy. The Banyan Tree brand will expand in China with the opening of Banyan Tree Guangzhou Jiulong Lake and Banyan Tree Mount Emei in Sichuan Province. The Angsana brand will add Angsana Ashar Valley Tents in Saudi Arabia and Angsana Bogor in Indonesia. The group will also open Garrya Danang in Vietnam and expand the Homm brand with Homm Mandaue Cebu in the Philippines, Homm Yibin Lizhuang in China, and Homm Pondok Indah Jakarta and Homm Palembang in Indonesia. Folio Bogor, the second Folio hotel globally, is scheduled to open in Indonesia later this year.

In 2026, Banyan Group will expand its wellbeing-led guest experiences across the Banyan Tree brand portfolio. The Banyan Tree Connections programme, which began at Banyan Tree Anji in China, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru in the Maldives, Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico, and Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand, will be available at eight additional resorts from April 2026. These include Banyan Tree Nanjing Garden Expo and Banyan Tree Guangzhou Jiulong Lake in China, Banyan Tree Bintan and Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape in Indonesia, Banyan Tree AlUla in Saudi Arabia, Banyan Tree Samui in Thailand, Banyan Tree Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and Banyan Tree Lang Co in Vietnam.

In 2025, the group marked the opening of its 100th resort, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore. The opening was marked by the Rainforest Festival, which attracted more than 4,000 visitors and raised over SGD 600,000 for the President’s Challenge, supporting 52 charities and social service organisations.

During the year, Banyan Group celebrated several anniversaries, including 10 years of the Cassia brand, 20 years in China, and 30 years in both the Maldives and Indonesia.

Banyan Group expanded its branded residences portfolio in 2025 with eight new sales launches, including Banyan Tree Padilla Madrid Residences in Madrid. The group also introduced the Bellaguna residential brand with its first development, Bellaguna Lake Residences – Lotus.

Banyan Gallery, the group’s artisan-led retail concept, operates more than 70 outlets globally and expanded its corporate gifting portfolio in 2025 with new international clients. The Banyan Spa & Wellbeing Academy received distinctions from Thailand’s Ministry of Education in 2025.

Banyan Group reported recognition in 2025 from various industry and consumer platforms, including awards for design, sustainability, and travel.
