Banyan Group will open new properties in Tanzania, Benin, the Dominican Republic, Montenegro, China, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines in 2026 as part of its ongoing expansion.
Banyan Group has announced a series of new property openings and developments scheduled for 2026, following the milestone opening of its 100th resort in 2025. The group currently operates 100 hotels and resorts, over 140 spas and galleries, and more than 20 branded residences in more than 20 countries.
In Africa, Banyan Group will enter the safari hospitality sector with the opening of Ubuyu, a Banyan Tree Escape in Tanzania. This marks the group’s first property in East Africa. In West Africa, the group will open Dhawa Ouidah in Benin, expanding its presence in the region.
In the Caribbean, Banyan Group will establish its presence in the Dominican Republic with the opening of Angsana Cap Cana and Cassia Punta Cana. These properties will introduce both resort and extended-stay offerings to the market.
In Europe, Mamula Island by Banyan Tree in Montenegro will officially reopen for the 2026 season, following design enhancements and updates to dining and spa facilities.
Across Asia and the Middle East, Banyan Group will continue its multi-brand expansion. The Banyan Tree brand will open Banyan Tree Guangzhou Jiulong Lake and Banyan Tree Mount Emei in China. The Angsana brand will add Angsana Ashar Valley Tents in Saudi Arabia and Angsana Bogor in Indonesia. The group will also open Garrya Danang in Vietnam and expand the Homm brand with new properties in the Philippines, China, and Indonesia. Folio Bogor in Indonesia will become the second Folio hotel globally.
Banyan Group will also expand its wellbeing-focused offerings in 2026. The Banyan Tree Connections program, a private wellbeing experience, will be available at eight additional resorts from April 2026, including locations in China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
In 2025, the group opened its 100th resort, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore. The opening event attracted over 4,000 visitors and raised more than SGD 600,000 (approximately USD 468,000) for charity.
The group also expanded its branded residences portfolio in 2025 with eight new sales launches, including its first residential development in Europe, Banyan Tree Padilla Madrid Residences. The new Bellaguna residential brand was also introduced, with the first development, Bellaguna Lake Residences – Lotus, designed for year-round living.
Banyan Group’s artisan-led retail concept, Banyan Gallery, expanded its international presence in 2025, partnering with more than 339 artisan communities and operating more than 70 outlets worldwide. The Banyan Spa & Wellbeing Academy has trained more than 2,800 therapists since 2001.
Banyan Group is planning further expansion in branded residential projects, with up to USD 1 billion in new residential launches anticipated in Phuket over the next two to three years.
