Barbara Eden, 94, Charms Fans With Sweet Throwback in Tribute to Longtime Friend

Barbara Eden took a moment out of her day to wish actor Dick Van Dyke a happy birthday on Saturday, Dec. 13. The I Dream of Genie star—who celebrated her 94th birthday in August—shared a throwback photo alongside Dyke along with a sweet message for the Mary Poppins actor.

“A very happy 100th Birthday to Dick Van Dyke @official_dick_van_dyke ! Your contributions to entertainment are as vast as the joy and laughter you’ve brought to so many,” Eden captioned the throwback photo alongside Van Dyke. “All the best to you on your birthday Dick,” she added.

Van Dyke recently spoke out about his centennial birthday, sharing a bit of an update on how he’s feeling lately.

“You know I played old men a lot. And I always played ’em as angry, and cantankerous,” he said, according to ABC News. “It’s not really that way.”

“I don’t know any other 100-year-old, but I can speak for myself,” he continued, adding, “I’m so lucky. I don’t have any ache or pain.”

Van Dyke credits going to the gym three days a week with saving him from pain.
