Barcelona’s hotel industry recorded its highest April occupancy in nine years, according to preliminary data from CoStar. The city hosted several major events during the month, including Bridal Fashion Week, CosmoBeauty Barcelona, FCE/SeaFood, the Spring I/O Conference, and Spannabis.
April occupancy reached 84.5%, up 4.4% year over year. The average daily rate (ADR) rose 6.1% to EUR195.15, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 10.7% to EUR164.93.
The strongest performance was on Wednesday, April 22, when occupancy peaked at 95.5%. On that night, ADR was EUR269.38 and RevPAR was EUR257.30, coinciding with the second day of the FCE/SeaFood festival and the opening night of Bridal Fashion Week. The same occupancy level was recorded the previous night, with an ADR of EUR268.06 and a RevPAR of EUR255.97.
The Spring I/O Conference also drove high demand, with occupancy reaching 94.3% on Wednesday, April 15, and ADR and RevPAR at EUR197.50 and EUR186.17, respectively.
Throughout April, Barcelona’s hotel occupancy remained above 70% on all but one night—Monday, April 6, when it dipped to 65.2%.
