Her days playing Dr. Lilith Sternin are long behind her, but Bebe Neuwirth looks more beautiful than ever.
Neuwirth, 66, rose to superstardom in the role of Lilith in the iconic sitcomCheers, which ran from 1982 to 1993. It followed the hijinks of a group of Bostonians who hang out at the local watering hole, Cheers, where the bartender, a former Boston Red Sox star named Sam Malone (played by the beloved actor Ted Danson), tends bar. The character of Lilith was the cerebral wife of Dr. Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, who would continue in the role on his series Frasier. Woody Harrelson, Shelley Long, George Wendt, and John Ratzenberger rounded out the legendary cast.
After Cheers, Neuwirth went on to guest star on Frasier, as well as the 2023 Frasier revival. In addition to a thriving theater career, Neuwirth has also had many other significant roles on shows like Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, and Julia.
This weekend, Neuwirth was photographed alongside actress Lauren Tom, who is best known for roles in the film The Joy Luck Club and on the beloved sitcom Friends, on which she played Ross Geller’s girlfriend Julie. Neuwirth ditched her slicked-back black hair that Lilith was best known for, and instead went with her soft, natural gray hair. She looked better than ever, and paired the look with a strong berry-toned lip.

Her Real Home is in the Theater
While she may be instantly identified with her role as Lilith, Neuwirth considers her first home to be the theater.
“I’ve been onstage since I was 7,” she told the New York Times last year. “It’s my home.”
The Tony Award-winner has appeared in iconic theatrical productions including Cabaret, Sweet Charity, Chicago, and A Chorus Line.
“I am a dancer first,” she shared. “I’m a physical performer, and that impulse, that expression doesn’t go away even if I’m standing still and listening to someone.”
What’s Next for Bebe Neuwirth?
Neuwirth has a lot coming down the pipeline. Earlier this year, Deadline announced that she’s set to participate in filmmaker Julia Hart‘s new comedy for Netflix titled Don’t Say Good Luck. According to a synopsis, the film follows Sophie Birenbaum, played by Adam Sandler‘s daughter Sunny Sandler, who is ready for the spotlight as the lead in her high school musical — until suddenly she’s living with even more drama at home than on the stage. Melanie Lynskey and Max Greenfield also appear.
