Beloved '80s Chart Topper Jokes He's 'in Pain' During 'Spectacular' Performance at London's O2 Arena

9 June 20252 Mins Read

Lionel Richie proved he is still a powerhouse performer, delivering a high-energy set at London’s O2 Arena that left fans ecstatic. The 75-year-old music icon, known for decades of chart-topping hits, took to the stage with a vibrant performance, all while humorously acknowledging the physical demands of his showmanship.

Throughout the night, Richie engaged the audience not just with his timeless music, but with his signature charm and wit. He moved across the stage with an energy that defied his years, a fact he playfully pointed out to the cheering crowd. In a moment of candor, The Telegraph reports Richie told the crowd about the effort behind his dynamic stage presence. “When you see me jumping and running, sliding, running up stairs, running down stairs, I want you all to know one thing: I’m in pain,” he joked.

One fan shared, “Fantastic night, loved every minute.” Another echoed the feeling, writing, “You were brilliant 🤩 we loved every second and didn’t want it to end.”
