Beloved '80s Pop Star, 54, Is 'Eternally Electric' in Latest Concert Performance

7 June 20252 Mins Read

As a middle schooler in the late 1980s, I was obsessed with the hottest pop stars of the decade. I knew every New Kids on the Block Song by heart, and my favorite female singer was Debbie Gibson. I’d sit in my room and listen to “Foolish Beat,” “Electric Youth,” and “Lost in Your Eyes” on my cassette tapes for hours. You guys? I even wore Electric Youth perfume. #slay

I remember being totally starstruck after seeing her perform in concert at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut, but I had no idea she was still out there performing in 2025 until I came across this video on TikTok. Gibson played a concert in Middletown, New York on Thursday, June 5, as as the caption on the clip states, she was “Eternally Electric.”

Man, my middle school self would be so excited to know my almost 48-year-old self stumbled upon this.

At 54 years old, she looks incredible and still has moves for days! One fan said, “I need a Debbie Gibson/Corey Feldman co-headline tour STAT!”

Another added, “My childhood idol. ❤️,” and someone else said, “The Queen 👑⚡️💚”

A few people did a double take since she looks a bit different these days, and one even declared, “Omg, I thought that was Toni Collette 😭.” There really is a resemblance!

Gibson also shared a video from the show on her Instagram account.

Fans were delighted to see their favorite pop star in action, and one said, “The show was SO incredible 👏”

Her Newstalgia concert tour continues tonight with a performance at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut.

What a fun way to relive the 1980s!
