Beloved ‘90s Actress Brings Back Her Most Famous Role 30 Years Later

Ahead of the 30th anniversary of the hit horror franchise Scream, beloved ’90s star Drew Barrymore has made a brief surprise return to her iconic role.

The actress, who famously portrayed Casey Becker—Ghostface’s first victim, slain in the film’s legendary opening sequence—partnered up with Chase for a clever new campaign. In the commercial, Barrymore reenacts the iconic phone call scene with the masked killer. However, instead of meeting a brutal end, she is pitched a cash-back credit card program.

By the end, Ghostface is revealed to be comedian Kevin Hart, who then joins Barrymore on a shopping spree—a humorous twist on its classic horror source material.

Three Decades of Scream

December 20, 2026 will mark 30 years of the Scream franchise. Wes Craven’s 1996 slasher took the horror genre by storm, slicing through tired ’80s slasher tropes by blending a terrifying mystery with meta-humor.
