The star of a beloved 1980s film looked practically unrecognizable when he was spotted during a recent public outing in Los Angeles, Calif.
David Moscow starred as 12-year-old Josh Baskin in 1988’s Big, a movie in which Moscow’s character transforms into an adult overnight after making a wish to become “big” while using a Zoltar fortune-telling machine. Tom Hanks played the adult version of the character in the movie.

Moscow, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month, was only 13 at the time of the film’s release. He was recently spotted walking around Los Angeles wearing a blue T-shirt, black pants and white sneakers. Photographers who snapped photos of the actor captured him speaking into a smartphone while standing outside. The Daily Mail published the photos of the Newsies star on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

In the wake of Big’s success, Moscow appeared in several films and TV shows in the 1990s and early 2000s and also carved out a stage career on Broadway. He has more recently focused his creative efforts on From Scratch, the culinary travel show that he hosts and produces. Moscow created the show to “help” audiences “reconnect with the food that sustains our lives,” according to the show’s website.
Moscow and his father, Jon, also published a book inspired by the show to take readers “on an exploration of our planet’s complex and interconnected food supply, showing us where our food comes from, who is part of the process, and why it matters.”
Earlier this week, Moscow shared a major update about the show with his followers on Instagram. As The Hollywood Reporter revealed in a Nov. 25 article, From Scratch was renewed for a fifth season on Tastemade. Moscow posted a screenshot of the article on Instagram, telling his fans that he “Can’t wait” to share with them “what we have cooked up this season.”
