BIG team growing in number and geographic diversity

29 May 20253 Mins Read

The BIG Media team keeps getting bigger, and the content keeps getting better.

No sensationalism. No expert testimony. No picking sides.

Just a bunch of intelligent, high-integrity people (and me) doing great research on the most important issues, and presenting their findings with logical interpretation and full transparency.

This is the way news journalism is supposed to be done.

Be part of the change at BIG Media.

A quick summary of the BIG faces (left to right, row by row):

Laurie Weston – renowned data scientist, founder of international geophysics firm Sound QI Solutions, co-founder of BIG Media Ltd.

Brad Hayes – doctor of geology, entrepreneur, adjunct professor who leads a popular “21st Century Energy Transition” course through the University of Alberta.

Lee Hunt – celebrated geoscientist, novelist, and philosopher.

Kevin Burron, P. Eng. – structural engineer who was recruited to be partner at the world’s largest law firm before launching Burron Law.

David Vickers – Statistician/epidemiologist who earned a PhD in theoretical epidemiology and complex systems.

Brian Russell – legendary geoscientist and mathematician who co-founded HampsonRussell Software.

Colleen Stewart – hilarious humour writer, keynote speaker, and founder of Perfect Pitch Consulting.

Ernest Granson – versatile journalist, senior editor at Business Edge News Magazine, production editor at BIG Media.

Muriel Protzer – infographic wiz, economics major, data-driven wordsmith, self-described policy wonk.

Chris DeArmitt – PhD, FRSC, FIMMM – internationally recognized scientist, author, and thought leader in materials science.

Edward Ostrowski – experienced energy leader with diverse engineering background and expertise in technical evaluations and business development.

Rob Driscoll – super humble and sarcastic writer who occasionally writes of himself in third person, and who recruited the amazing people featured herein.

Richard LeBlanc – professor, entrepreneur, strategic leader, writer.

Stephen Heins – former energy executive, prolific writer who studied American literature and poetry at Columbia University.

Dr. Kaase Gbakon, PhD – senior economist and energy strategist with global experience in petroleum economics and policy analysis.
