The guys over at Super Evil Megacorp, when they approached me, they were like, ‘What about the Krypteian Warriors? Maybe we [could] use them as the main characters,’ and I was like, ‘Well, how do we do that? Like, they’re the bad guys.’ And [SEMC devs] said, ‘What about this?’ And then through a series of creative back-and-forths, we came up with this really cool idea where we really explore the Krypteian culture, we find out what makes them such capable warriors.
What if a rift formed between these two cultures that have been aligned for a thousand years — that is the Imperium and the Krypteians — and what if that rift exploded into a planet-wide rebellion? And what if that rebellion really threatened the larger Imperium? And I thought that stuff was really cool, because it really lined up with our Rebel Moon [film] storyline.
