Brighton City Centre Premier Inn Scheduled to Open in Early 2028

In Brief: Whitbread has completed the structural frame for a 187-room Premier Inn hotel on West Street in Brighton, which is scheduled to open in early 2028.

Whitbread marked the topping-out milestone for the new Premier Inn Brighton City Centre (Seafront) hotel after completing the building’s structural frame. The development will be Brighton’s second Premier Inn and is located on West Street.

Representatives of Whitbread and principal contractor Gilbert Ash gathered at the highest point of the building on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The project is being developed at a former nightclub site acquired by Whitbread from a private developer.

Construction began in October 2025. The completed hotel will contain 187 rooms, including the brand’s latest-format bedrooms and Premier Plus rooms. A restaurant will be located on the ground floor.

The site is within a 10-minute walk of seafront destinations, independent shopping areas and other Brighton attractions. The hotel is expected to create approximately 40 hospitality jobs when it opens.

Whitbread currently operates a Premier Inn hotel on North Street in Brighton city center and has hotels across the South Coast. Across the U.K. and Ireland, it operates more than 840 hotels and 86,000 bedrooms.
