Bruno Mars Stuns Fans Covering 'Dirty Diana' With Legendary Rock Icons

Bruno Mars showed just how effortlessly he can cross genres, tearing through covers of Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a Michael Jackson classic, with Guns N’ Roses legend Slash on lead guitar.

At the Eldridge Industries’ party at The Capitol Theatre in New York, Mars was joined by rock legends like Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith, Guns N’ Roses’ Slash and Duff McKagan, and Brandi Carlile. The company’s annual holiday bash turned into a star-studded event with Yungblud and Andrew Watt also performing.

Videos of the event led fans to lose their minds with excitement after hearing Mars cover Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana” alongside McKagan, Smith, and Slash.

“HELLO??? BRUNO COVERING DIRTY DIANA WITH THAT VOCAL + THAT BAND?? My ghost is tweeting this because I did NOT survive,” said one fan.

One fan added, “DIRTY DIANA TOO OMG??? this lucky crowd.”

Fans’ surprise only escalated after seeing Mars’ cover of rock classics like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Led Zeppelin’s “A Whole Lotta Love.” He also covered Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire” and The Police’s “Roxanne”.

“Omg ty for the Bruno crumbs. Love hearing his rock covers,” said on fan on X.

Multiple fans couldn’t contain their excitement over the singer belting out rock hits like it was nothing, and accompanied by greats like Slash and Vedder. One popular comment thread was that Mars needs to put out a rock album soon.

“Still hoping for that 70-80’s rock song, Bruno. Maybe next album,” said one fan.

Another agreed saying, “I’d love @BrunoMars to do a Rock album. Think it would be sooo good.”

Many fans said the singer is back in “his rock era” and is a certified rocker ready to dive further into the genre.

Why the star-studded occasion? Eldridge Industries is a major investment firm that invests heavily into sports and entertainment. The party served as a major networking event, bringing A-list stars together. Even Orlando Bloom was in attendance having shared a video of Mars’ performance on social media.
