Despite how their relationship appeared to fans, Bunnie XO opened up about Jelly Roll’s year-long affair early in their marriage.
“We got married a month after meeting,” she told Kelly Clarkson in February. “We eloped in Vegas, and when you marry somebody who’s from a completely opposite side of the train tracks as you…we both were just so hardheaded and stubborn.”
The Dumb Blonde podcast host revealed Jelly Roll — real name Jason DeFord — had an affair three years into their marriage.
“When I found out about it, it was just so heartbreaking,” she shared, adding that they separated for a period of time. “Instead of looking at him and being like, this is your fault, you know. I looked within myself, and was like, why do I keep attracting these types of men?”
According to Bunnie — real name Alissa DeFord — she had been given multiple second chances in her life, and felt her husband deserved one as well.
“It is the best decision I ever made,” she gushed. “Will he get a third? Absolutely the f— not.”
The couple met in 2015 and almost immediately tied the knot. Years later, the “Son of a Sinner” artist was catapulted to stardom, becoming one of the most famous faces in country music.
Months after opening up about their IVF journey, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie in May.
“The thing is I don’t like when people are like, ‘Oh my God, you guys are couple goals, or you guys are perfect.’ And I’m like, you guys don’t know the hell we’ve been through,” Bunnie told Clarkson.
