Calgary International Film Festival is bringing Bif Naked to Alberta

20 August 20252 Mins Read

The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is known as one of Canada’s premier film festivals, and this year will be no exception.

The film festival recently announced its wave one lineup of films at CIFF 2025, and we’re seriously pumped about what’s coming to the big screen.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect of this year’s fest is the arrival of Canadian musician Bif Naked. She will appear on the CIFF red carpet to promote the screening of her documentary, Bif Naked, a raw and unfiltered look into the life of this iconic musician.

Here’s what to expect at CIFF this year, alongside welcoming one of the country’s most accomplished musical talents.

What to expect

Day one of CIFF will include five features across Contemporary Calgary and Globe Cinema, plus an after-party celebrating the kick-off of Calgary’s biggest and boldest film fest.

Tickets to the Spotlight+ screening of Bif Naked are on sale now and include access to the Day 1 after-party.

From documentaries and drama to music on screen, CIFF boasts one of the most diverse lineups of international and Canadian-made films, all in one place.

Alongside the world premiere of Bif Naked, directed by Pollyanna Hardwicke-Brown and Jennifer Abbott, CIFF will also premiere Canadian films A Dickens of a Christmas, Calorie, Do Us Part, Fruit is Ripe and Love, Harold.

The festival will also include an international premiere of This Will Never Work, directed by Americans Marina Tempelsman and Niccolo Aeed.

CIFF’s complete lineup will be announced on August 27. You can expect high-calibre filmmaking, exciting red carpets and Q&As with film stars and directors following each screening.

Hosted by Contemporary Calgary and Globe Cinema, there will be plenty of popcorn to munch on while you discuss the films with other movie buffs.

What are you waiting for? CIFF season is almost here!
