Calgary is getting a riverside pop-up with morning yoga, live music and food vendors

30 July 20263 Mins Read

Calgary’s Bow River is getting a summer upgrade as River Hall returns for another season of outdoor programming, local food, and live entertainment. Instead of a one-day event, the riverside space is sticking around for the entire summer, giving locals a place to drop by for live music, pop-ups and free activities whenever you feel like it.

The lineup will constantly change throughout the season, with new events, vendors and activities joining the space until late September.

Here’s what you’ll find at River Hall this summer.

Events and activities happening at River Hall this summer

After two successful seasons, River Hall is back for its third summer along the Bow River. According to the City of Calgary, the space takes over a former parking lot and turns it into an outdoor gathering spot filled with shipping containers, a community stage, shaded picnic areas, and plenty of spots to hang out by the water.

Inside those shipping containers, visitors can grab food and drinks from some familiar Calgary favourites. Made by Marcus will be serving up its signature small-batch ice cream, while Monogram Coffee will be bringing its refreshing drinks and coffee creations. And if you’re on the hunt for a full meal, Cluck N Cleaver will have you covered with its famous fried chicken dishes.

And of course, food is only a small part of what’s going down at River Hall this summer. There will also be a lineup packed with events, including local markets, wellness sessions, and creative workshops happening throughout the season. Friday nights will feature Sunset Studio Session, where you can catch live music while checking out a market full of local vendors and listening to live music from Calgary artists.

On Saturdays, Flow by the Bow will offer outdoor morning yoga sessions, giving visitors a chance to roll out their mats and start the weekend with a little movement. And those who are looking to unleash their creative side can take part in workshops like cyanotype printing, where guests create their own sun-powered artwork.

And did we mention that the venue is pet-friendly? Your furry sidekick doesn’t have to miss out on the fun, with dogs welcome to join you while you check out everything it has to offer.

River Hall hours, dates, and details

River Hall is open until Sept. 27, 2026, giving you plenty of time to check out the space throughout the remainder of the summer. It’s open on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Best of all, there’s no admission fee to stop by, and many of the events and activities are completely free to attend! Since the lineup is constantly changing throughout the season, you can check out the River Hall website each week to check what events and pop-ups are coming up next.

So grab your crew, your dog, or just your appetite, and make your way down to River Hall before it wraps up.

When: Open Thursday to Sunday (running until Sept. 27, 2026)
Time: Thursday and Friday: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: 311 8th St. SW, Calgary, Alta.
