Calgary’s newest park in the West District looks pretty exciting.

Radio Park will feature a playground with the city’s tallest slide, a skatepark, a dog park, and a community garden.

Plus, there is a big party to celebrate the opening of the community green space this week!

Everyone is invited to attend the Radio Park grand opening on Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’ll be loaded with an itinerary full of fun activities, including live music, dog agility, balloon and hula hoop artists, and a magic show.

What to expect

Radio Park is Calgary’s newest green space concept, a hybrid recreation, entertainment, and dining community developed by the Truman Development Corporation in collaboration with the City of Calgary and design firms HDR and CivicWorks.

The park is part of the new design of West District, which seeks to “redefine urban living” with a planned community that focuses on accessibility and walkability.

Radio Park will be a year-round destination for Calgarians, where visitors can dine at exciting restaurants, explore new retail favourites, and enjoy the best features of the park. Visitors will also revel in a spacious lawn overlooking a stormwater pond, an amphitheatre perfect for outdoor festivals and concerts, a playground, a skatepark, a community garden, and a dog park.

The grand opening on Sept. 20 will unveil Calgary’s newest premier outdoor destination to the public, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a speech by Mayor Jyoti Gondek, and a full day of programming.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. and will mark the official opening of this anticipated new public space. Family-friendly activities, including live music performances, dog agility by Barkside, and soccer demos with the Wild FC, will follow from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It’s bound to be a memorable day for the whole family. Be sure to bring your friends, family and definitely some good vibes.

Come on out and see for yourself what Calgary’s newest park has to offer!

When: Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Radio Park – 775 78th St. SW
Cost: Free
