The US News 2024 Best Countries Report has been released and Canada is among the top five. While our amazing country may have dropped down a couple of spots since last year, it still sits in a very respectable position.
Here’s a breakdown of the 2024 report.

So, what is the ranking based on? According to US News, the report “evaluates 89 nations across 73 different attributes. Attributes are grouped into 10 subrankings, ranging from entrepreneurship and quality of life to adventure and heritage.”
The 10 subrankings include Adventure, Agility, Cultural Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for Business, Power, Social Purpose, and Quality of Life.
For 2024, the most heavily weighted subranking was the subranking of Movers – which “includes factors relating to a country’s future growth.”
Canada’s ranking
Canada came in at fourth in the ranking, dropping from last year’s second-place spot.
For 2024, Canada’s overall score is 94.1, scoring highest in Agility (how adaptable to change a country is), Social Purpose (how progressive, inclusive and committed to social justice a country is), Quality of Life and Entrepreneurship.
